Safeguarding

We follow the Safeguarding requirements, policies and procedures of the Lancashire Aikikai and British Aikido Board. ( Who are these bodies?? - see page "How we Work" and the heading Trafford Aikido Club for explanation).

Club Statement of Intent

Trafford Aikido believe all should enjoy Aikido in a safe and enjoyable setting particularly those for whom Safeguarding exists.   This approach helps us to achieve :-

• Healthy personal development.
• Positive and balanced relationships based on mutual trust, fairness, respect and equality.
• An environment:-
• which makes Aikido fun and enjoyable.
• where if abuse or bullying occurs they feel comfortable and safe to disclose.
• where concerns over welfare are acted on and not ignored.
• where no one is forced to do something they don't wish to in an Aikido setting.
• That adults working with these groups understand their legal and moral responsibility and fulfil them.
• Adults in the Club should not be placed in situations where allegations of abuse could be made.
• Coaches are qualified and safeguard trained.
